Dobermann has artheritus whats best?
Its my mums dog, Lady. She has justed been diagonsed with arheritus and is on pain killers, the vet said that he will put her down on mums say so. She is an old dog and also just developed an ulcer on her knee joint. How long should she be left like this? She doesnt seem in pain now on the pain relief. Mum says she wants to give her till xmas (she loves ripping her pressies open) but dont know if shes being cruel or even if thats the right descision. Your advice/thoughts?
She is 12 (i think) her paws are turned out. But doent whimper at all. Although she is scared of going on the kitchen floor as it is laminated and she slipped on it recently.
As long as she is eating well, and wagging her tail a bit, it will do no harm to allow her to enjoy Christmas..If she is just whining and moaning, then it is time to let her rest..I have found that old dogs let you know when it is time.. they loose interest in things, and just always look like they are sad..depressed..
