Is is proper to give your x husbands new girlfriend a birthday gift or a Christmas gift, or any gift.?
I am remarried, very happy. My x husband has a girlfriend and they have been together since our divorce. She is very nice and sweet to my kids. I like her and would like her to know I like her and support her and my x. I sent her a nice necklace for her birthday, a ruby and diamond heart. It was my Mom’s and I already have two myself, so it was special and I wanted to give her something nice. My daughter and girlfriends say I should not be giving her gifts. The bad part was the gift was identical to the one my x husband picked out for her. I sent it to his house and he opened it. He sent it back with my daughter. My daughter thinks I knew somehow and planned it. Why would I do that. Should I not send anything from now on. I never see her and I want her to know I like her..is that important. It is mostly because of my kids.
it’s important that your children know you don’t have anything against thier possible stepmother, but SHE is not a child and doesn’t need to be given gifts so she can know you like her.
