Stay at home moms buying gifts for husbands?
If you are a SAHM, what do you do for your hubbie when it comes time for gift-giving?? I am a newly-adjusted SAHM (I quit work to move to an out-of-state military base with DH) and now I feel weird about buying stuff with ‘his’ money.
What can I do for him for anniversaries, Christmas, and birthdays without using the money he makes? Or is that really my only choice?
I know the money is “ours”… and I use it to pay for groceries, bills, and other necessities…
but when it comes to gift-giving, it just feels wrong to grab out of the account that he puts the money into. Either way, I just want some advice… thanks!
can’t babysit… i’ve got 4 girls under 7 of my own… I’d have to run a daycare and get a business license for all that!
Don’t buy anything big and you won’t feel guilty that it’s “his”money. You can easily make him happy with something small that both of you can enjoy – like a bottle of good wine or a nice dinner. Or a DVD that both of you can enjoy when the kids are in bed. Or pay a babysitter for one night and go bowling. Or surprise him with a horseriding trip… Anyway, you know best what he likes and if it’s out of the ordinary, i am quite sure he will appreciate the gesture without even thinking once whose money it is.
