Bible and what it says about the Holy Spirit!!!!?
So the bible says that when the Holy Spirit comes down on you u will hear it see it and feel it and when i was in the first communion (im catholic) and when i received the gifts of the holy spirit but i never felt the holy Spirit on me and it is no correct with the bible according to the ible there is no way thatu can receive the holy spirit and not feel it come down on you what does that mean?
Misty is correct in stating that the bible does NOT tell us that the Holy Spirit WILL be heard, seen and felt. It only says that, in a couple VERY special circumstances, the Holy Spirit was seen OR felt OR heard or maybe more than one of those. In most cases, there is no indication that the Holy Spirit was seen OR heard OR felt. Rather, the Holy Spirit moved people to act or speak, and the *author* recognized the Holy Spirit acting within that person.
Second, there is no law that says, “You WILL receive the Holy Spirit when you take first communion” OR “You will FEEL the Holy Spirit when you take first communion”. I imagine, for example, that if Satan were to take communion that he would not receive the Holy Spirit, even if it were Jesus himself consecrating it.
Receiving the Holy Spirit is not an exact science, where every time anyone does A + B + C, they always end up getting the Holy Spirit. For one thing, faith is important – the faith of the individual seeking the Holy Spirit. For another, the existence of the Holy Spirit within the person attempting to pass the Holy Spirit onto others can also be important (in many situations). A sincere willingness to follow Jesus is also important – which is why Satan will never receive the Holy Spirit, no matter what *actions* he performs.
Receiving the Holy Spirit requires more than following a recipe or a script. It is also not necessarily sensed physically – as you would know if you had, in fact, read the bible.
