ATTN: Dutch birthday present – for teachers??
I am an American who now lives in Holland and while I'm at aware of many customs that take place between the Dutch, I'm not aware of what is done for birthdays teachers! My daughter is in group 1 and the anniversary of his teacher soon. The Groepmoeders planning a surprise party for her and have sent a note home asking the children to bring a gift for her. What kind of gifts are given to teachers, including those of Group 1 teaching and 2? I need answers as quickly as possible because I just received the letter today and the game is Wednesday, March 14! Helllllllllllllllp! Ik niet zo spreek Nederlands VLOT dat zou ik het antwoord in Engels waarderen. JE WEL Dank. Even if the Dutch enjoy their wine, I do not think it would be appropriate or related to the age of 4 year old child to give his teacher a bottle of wine. This is the key here … my daughter is only 4 years.
A box of chocolates and flowers or plants (spring flowers like tulips, hyacinths, etc.) are always appreciated. It could also be something like a body lotion or shower-Nice-cream. A "glossy" magazine like Elle magazine or a good diet can also be a good idea or maybe something "decorating Easter-ish ': An Easter bunny, chocolate Easter eggs, etc. I am Dutch and I am a teacher.
